We've seen "EasyEdit tools are temporarily disabled for maintenance" for a few weeks now... but, I didn't see an announcement about the product being closed, a way to export our old content, etc. The fact that the discussion forum is filled with spam is not promising.

Intellectual property deals with work created by an individual that was originated through his/her own thoughts. It protects / covers original work such as novels, plays music, literary, artistic works, discoveries and inventions; and words, phrases, symbols and designs. The purpose of intellectual property laws is to encourage new technology, artistic expression and invention while promoting economic growth.

Any word on this? The content we're collecting in the injected wikis is valuable, and we need a way to make sure they're backed up and/or can be exported.

We should not post content that degrades the work of others on the basis of gender or race. One must have respect for intellectual property and not try to exploit the work of others by trying to sell or pass it off as your own work. It is important to note and practice the proper use of the works of others. Anyone who utilizes a part or any portion of an individual’s production must give due respect for that piece of work by mentioning the source. This can be done by proper quotation or an approved permission from the owner to use or share such work. A prime example can be seen in the music of recording artiste which has been used in political campaign. We should take into consideration how hard persons have worked to come up with new ideas. They give much of their time and commitment, so we cannot try to make profit from something that does not belong to us. If we respect and value what we have then we can do the same for other people. We should not encourage anyone to use anything that was created by someone else. Also, we can become a part of a group that promotes zero tolerance against persons that use or benefit from intellectual property. People can attend seminars and workshop in order to understand more on the subject of intellectual property. This will also help persons to develop greater appreciation for the work of others.

Hi, I hope you can help us. We are a group of people with Parkinson's (PWPs) who have been working on developing a wikipedia-like site for all information relevant to Parkinson's (please see our wetpaint site, www.AllThingsParkinsons.wetpaint). Our hope is that ultimately we will be able to develope a community of 10,000s users, contributors and editors; but until I found Wetpaint, we could not find a user friendly wiki platform, and many of the folks in the Parkinson's community cannot nor would not be able to struggle with a mark-up language. So, I was very happy to find Wetpaint. It looks as if it will help us make this significant project happen. BUT I am having trouble with the navigation menu -- setting it up so that its structure reflects the logic of our unique, very complex site. Would you be able to help us with this specific problem? Thanks much, DJEPhD

Hello, I am a member of several wetpaint communities but recently there has been an issue of some sort and now every time I enter a site hosted by wetpaint, I get this error prompt: [ Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://(wetpaintsitename).wetpaint.com
Operation aborted ] This only occurs on wetpaint sites and I've had this issue for a week. I have noticed that nobody else has this problem and I can get onto the sites from other computers, but once I'm logged into this wetpaint profile, the problem starts to occur on that computer as well. I have to stop my internet loading process at the right moment to do anything on any wepain sites otherwise the page closes and will not let me in.
Do you have any idea of what the problem could be?

When I come to my wetpaint site, I get my home page but I can't click on anything, i have to refresh the page and hurry and scroll to where I want to go, then refresh again to click on anything that I want,, I find refreshing all the time to be a pain in the butt, but that is what I have to do to be able to go to my pages and info on my pages as well, constant refreshing and hurry to scroll and click. What is going on? Does Wetpaint know what can be causing this to act like this. I love my site here on wetpaint please fix this error soon. We support you ;-)

Bangalore, January 22, 2010: The introduction of the Java Persistence API signaled the beginning of the end of using proprietary Hibernate or TopLink mapping files and session APIs to persist your business objects to a relational database. While developers have flocked to the new standard and have been happily developing persistence applications on JPA 1.0, the specification has continued to evolve. The JPA 2.0 release adds even more features and provides even more flexibility to app developers than ever. Java Persistence expert Mike Keith is coming back this summer to India's biggest summit for the software developer ecosystem - Great Indian Developer Summit (http://www.developersummit.com/) to teach some of the important advances made by JPA 2.0 and illustrate the new functionality through examples and sample code. He will also impart valuable tips and tricks along the way to help you develop better JPA applications.
Mike Keith, a GIDS alumini, was a co-lead of the EJB 3.0 and JPA 1.0 specifications in addition to representing Oracle on the Java EE 5 specification expert group. He co-authored the premier JPA reference book called Pro EJB 3: Java Persistence API and has over 15 years of teaching, research and development experience in object-oriented and distributed systems, specializing in object persistence. He currently works as an architect for Java persistence strategies at Oracle and represents Oracle on the JPA 2.0 (JSR 317) and Java EE 6 (JSR 316) expert groups. For further information on GIDS 2010, please visit the summit on the web http://www.developersummit.com/

Hey Boe and all!
A bunch of our users (myself included) noticed that we recently always get the "you have unsaved changes" prompt when canceling an EasyEdit, even if not a single change is made. Very easy to reproduce. Happens on most recent versions of both IE and FF. I can send a screenshot or other specifics if needed. Is this something you're aware of? It used to not happen.
Thanks, Ed
